![]() The Bible teaches that on the cross Jesus became sin and we became righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21). It also says, because Jesus died on the cross for our sins, God is just in justifying us (Romans 3:26). Did you know that there are over seven-five scriptures that say you are “In Christ”? For example, you have redemption In Christ! You are sanctified In Christ! You are justified In Christ! You have eternal life In Christ! There is no condemnation In Christ! You have a glorious inheritance In Christ! You always triumph and have the victory In Christ! Nothing can separate you from the love of God In Christ! You were created for good works In Christ! Etc., Etc., Etc. So what does all this mean? What does it mean to be In Christ? It means the moment you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior you died! The sin nature that ruled your spirit and your heart were cut off of you. It died with Christ on the cross. You resurrected with Christ with a brand new born-again spirit. Your new spirit is one with Jesus. Your new spirit is perfect. It is created in true righteousness and holiness. God, the Holy Spirit, now lives in your spirit and is one with your spirit. You also got a new heart. However, it is your responsibility to fill your new heart with the truths of your redemption In Christ. You must fill your new heart with the word of God especially the truths of the New Testament. The truths of the New Testament are called “The Law of the Spirit of Life In Christ Jesus”. These truths will make you free from “The Law of Sin and Death”. You could say it this way; you must put off the old man and put on the new man. You must renew your mind to who you are In Christ. When you accepted Jesus into your heart God placed you In Christ. When God looks at you, He sees Jesus. He treats you as though you were Jesus. You must renew your mind to see yourself the same way God sees you. 2 Corinthians 3:18 declares we are being transformed into the image of Jesus as we renew our minds to this amazing truth. 1 John 4:17 declares “As Jesus is, so are we in this world.” God has accepted you into His beloved family. He has made you His son and His heir. He has also made you a joint-heir with Jesus. When God placed you In Christ He made you equal with Jesus. This is why Jesus could say, “Whoever believes in me the works that I do he will do also and even greater works than these will he do because I go to the Father.” You must see yourself as a righteous, holy, sanctified, justified and glorified child of God because that is who Jesus is. Remember, as He is, so are you in this world. Jesus was the only person who obeyed the Law of Moses perfectly. He is the only person who is qualified to partake of the glorious blessings of the Law found in Deuteronomy 28. Since God has placed you In Christ and made you a joint-heir with him the blessing of the law become your inheritance. You are the rightful heir of all the blessings of God, all the promises of God, and all the benefits of God because you are In Christ. You are the Body of Christ. You carried Jesus around on this earth wherever you go. You have the privilege of allowing Jesus to live through you. He will love others through you. He will encourage others through you. He will operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit through you. He will perform miracles through you. Just as you can do nothing without Jesus, He can do nothing without you. He needs your body to flow through on this earth to demonstrate His great love to humanity. You must put on this new man. You must put on this new identity In Christ so that you can do the works of Jesus and receive the glorious inheritance that Jesus came to give to you. Satan has deceived the church into getting its identity from the old sinful man that is still attached to your mortal body. The Bible calls the sinful man your flesh. This is why you hear Christians say they are not worthy of God. This is why Christians are oppressed and depressed. This is why Christians are sick, diseased, in pain and living in poverty. This is why there is very little, if any, victory in their lives. Religion teaches you to get your identity from your weak flesh. Jesus teaches you to get your identity in Him. Once you get your identity In Christ all the oppression, depression, and unworthiness will be broken off of you. Your entire outlook on life and on God will change. You will fall in love with your Savior like never before. Your Christian walk and life will be filled with great joy and expectation. Your identity is in Jesus. Whatever Jesus deserves, you deserve. Whoever Jesus is, so are you. Is Jesus holy? So are you. Is Jesus righteous? So are you. Is Jesus worthy? So are you. Does Jesus deserve to be healed? So do you. Does Jesus deserve to be blessed? So do you. Is Jesus sick and diseased? Then neither are you. Is Jesus broke and in lack? Neither are you. Your identity is in Jesus. Satan and religion always point to your weaknesses for you to get your identity. For you to say you are unworthy is to say that Jesus is unworthy. For you to say you do not deserve to be healed or blessed is to say Jesus does not deserve to be healed or blessed. Jesus always points to Himself for you to get your identity. This is what the Bible calls the glorious and amazing GRACE of our God. This grace has been poured out abundantly on you.
