If you abide in My word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

We abide in Jesus’ word by putting His words in our heart. God’s word contradicts the words of this world. The wisdom of this world will cause you to envy and be self-seeking. Satan is the god of this world and he promises you if you will look to this world you can find security, identity, comfort, pleasure and fulfillment through riches. Money promises you happiness. Think about it. Satan is the god of this world. Do you think he will ever bless you? No, he is a liar. He schemes against you to trap you and destroy you. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one can come to the Father except through Me.” The answer to life is to know the Father. He is love. He is the only one that can fill the void in your heart to be loved, accepted, and to have a sense of value. He gives you an identity in Christ. He makes you His child and His heir. He makes you equal with Jesus by making you a joint-heir with Him. He gives you what Jesus deserves. He does not count your sins against you and will not judge you. He does this so that you can know His love so that you can let His love flow through you to others. God will not judge you but extends His grace to you. He does this so that you are empowered by His love not to judge others but extend grace to them. This way the world can see that you are Christ’s disciples and they will come to Christ. The truth of God’s great love for you will set you free. The truth of God’s great love flowing through you to others will also make you free. When you refuse to judge others and your love for them is not based on what they do or how they treat you, you will truly be free.
