![]() The law of sin and death came into effect when Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden. Romans 5:18 "Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life." Everyone is born with a sin nature because of Adam’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden (Romans 5:12). This sin nature brought judgment on all of mankind and the result of that judgment is condemnation. Man is a slave to the sin nature (Romans 6:20) that rules his spirit, soul and body. Condemnation produces a sense of unworthiness before God. At the cross Jesus bore the sins of mankind and the judgment for sin. All who accept Jesus as their Savior become born again. Their spirit is a new creation and is perfect before God. However the sin nature still resides in our mortal bodies. The Bible calls this your “Flesh”. Because of the “Flesh” we will struggle to be perfect and will fail many times. However God does not count our sins against us (Romans 4:6-8). Religion demands that you are perfect therefore when you fail, religion will condemn you, causing you to feel unworthy of God. Faith forgives you even when you fall short and sin (1 John 2:1-2). Faith receives its forgiveness because it understands the blood of Jesus justifies it. Every Christian who feels unworthy of God has lost their identity In Christ. They are getting their identity from their old man who is weak and lost. Under the New Testament God has placed us In Christ therefore, we get our identity from our new born again spirit that is perfect before our God. And by the way, this was God’s idea and plan for our lives.
