DAY 10
The curse of the Law
The Law of Moses reveals God’s standard for righteousness and holiness. All who desire to be righteous and holy before God must obey all his commandments. This old covenant is based on man’s works. It is based on man’s ability to obey God’s perfect standard for righteousness. You would be abundantly blessed if you completely obeyed every commandment of God. However because God is just you would be punished if you broke any of his commandments. In Deuteronomy chapter twenty eight the curses of the Law are revealed. Every kind of sickness, disease and pain is revealed. If you broke any of God’s commandments you would be afflicted with these curses. The point I want to make is sickness, disease and pain are a curse. All who try to obtain their righteousness before God by their good works are cursed. It is impossible for anyone to be righteous before God by the Law of Moses, because all man has sin in him. Even after we are saved we still continue to sin against God. Our sin nature is still attached to our mortal body. The Bible calls it your flesh. Our flesh deceives us and we fall short. If you try to obtain your righteousness before God by keeping the Law (Ten Commandments) you will fall short and be found guilty. The result is condemnation and a sense of unworthiness. Every time you commit a sin Satan will come to your mind and condemn you. If you receive his condemnation you will not feel worthy of God. In this unworthy state of mind Satan will afflict you with the curse of the Law. You will not resist him because you will feel that you deserve the punishment. All who feel unworthy do not understand what took place on the cross. They are basing their righteousness on their works. They are basing their righteousness on their ability to obey the Law. The purpose of the Law was to prove that you are a sinner. The Law will always condemn you. Jesus came to free you from the Law for righteousness. Jesus paid the price for your sins at the cross. He bore your sins and the judgment for your sins. He traded places with you. He took your sin and your judgment and gave you, as a free gift, his righteousness and abundant life. Jesus redeemed you from the curse of the Law. He bore your judgment for sin therefore you are forever free from the judgment for sin. The next time you fall short and the devil comes to condemn you resist him by proclaiming that Jesus has already paid the price for your sins and declaring I am the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus my Lord. If Satan tries to afflict you with the curse of sickness, disease or pain, declare that Jesus has redeemed you from the curse of the Law and confess, “By Jesus’ stripes I am healed”. You are forever forgiven. You cannot condemn or judge the forgiven.
PrayerFather I thank you for freeing me from the Law of Moses and giving me, as a free gift, your perfect righteousness. I thank you Lord Jesus for bearing my sin and my judgment for sin. I thank you for making me free from the condemnation and judgment for sin. I receive my new identity as your son in Christ Jesus my Lord.

Confession
I am the redeemed of the Lord. I have been redeemed from every lawless deed. I have been redeemed from the curse of the Law. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus my Lord. I am the healed. Healing is the children’s bread and I am a child of God therefore I receive healing in my body that Jesus purchased for me on the cross.
