DAY 29
Fighting from victory not for victory
The Apostle Peter writes, “By whose stripes you were healed”. Notice that the word “were” is past tense. You were healed at the cross. Right before Jesus died on the cross he said, “It is finished!” The work of man’s redemption was complete on the cross. The price that the Law required was complete. The Law demands that the soul that sins must die. God demonstrated his great love for man by allowing him to have a substitute, someone to take his judgment for sin. However no human being on the earth was qualified to be a substitute, for all men have sinned and come short of God’s righteous requirement of obeying all the Laws of Moses. God loved you so much he sent his only Begotten Son to be your Substitute. Jesus was the only perfect man. His blood was innocent and free from all sin. His blood was the only blood that would satisfy the righteous judgment of God. Jesus freely came to take your place as a sinner on the cross and give you, as a free gift, his place as a righteous son. God placed your sin on Jesus and Jesus bore your judgment of death. In doing so he reconciled you to God. Jesus satisfied God’s righteous judgment by bearing it in his own body. Jesus put sin away out of God’s sight forever. Jesus freed you from the Law of Moses by allowing you to die with him, be buried with him and resurrecting with him a brand new man. The forgiveness of sins was purchased for all who will believe the gospel. The healing from all sickness, disease, and pain was purchased for all who will believe the gospel. The deliverance from Satan and his entire kingdom was purchased at the cross. We are instructed to renew our minds to our new identity in Christ Jesus (put on the new man). We are now righteous in God’s sight. We are justified and sanctified by the innocent and holy blood of Jesus. This is who we are. Our old man was crucified with Christ nevertheless we still live yet not us but Christ now lives in us and through us. The forgiveness of sins and the healing of our bodies were purchased for us at the cross. They are part of our inheritance of the Saints in the Light. Satan is a thief. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. When he comes to afflict us we stand against him from victory not for victory. We are the victorious. We are the redeemed of the Lord. We are the forgiven and the healed. We are not trying to get God to heal us, for we were healed at the cross. We resist all sickness, disease and pain that attach itself to our bodies. Satan cannot prevail against us for Jesus has already given us complete victory over him and his entire kingdom of darkness. The Just shall live by faith and not by sight. We believe that we are healed first and then we see the manifestation of healing in our bodies. If you are waiting for the manifestation of healing before you believe you are in unbelief and will not receive your healing. Faith is not throwing away your medicine or not going to the doctor, which is foolish. Faith is God’s redemptive word in your heart and in your mouth. Continue to take your medication and go to the doctor just stay in faith and you will recover.
PrayerFather I thank you that you purchased my complete salvation at the cross. I thank you for forgiving me for all my sins and healing me from all my sicknesses, diseases and pains. I thank you for redeeming me.
