DAY 02
Man is Born a Sinner
The Bible is an inspired book written by men who were moved by the Holy Spirit. It is a book that tells the story of God’s great love for man. God created man in his image and likeness. God created a beautiful garden for man to live in. God placed two special trees in the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. He instructed Adam not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Satan deceived Adam and his wife Eve to eat from the forbidden tree. The day they ate of the tree sin entered into the world and separated man from his Creator and loving Father. When sin entered into the world the judgment for sin entered with it. All sickness, disease, pain and death are judgment for sin.
Romans 5:12,19 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned —19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
All mankind are born sinners because of Adam’s sin. We are all born with a sin nature. The wages (judgment) for sin is death. Sickness, disease, and pain are the result of sin being in the world. In God’s great love for us he sent us a Savior. Jesus came as a sacrificial Lamb. He came to take our place and bear our sins. He was our substitute. We are born sinners because of Adam’s disobedience. We are born-again righteous because of Jesus’ obedience to go to the cross. At the cross Jesus bore our sins and gave us, as a free gift, his righteousness.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
At the cross an exchange took place. Jesus became sin and we became righteous. Jesus bore our judgment for sin and died on the cross so that we could bare his righteousness and receive his abundant life. Jesus bore our sicknesses, diseases, and pains so that we could bear his health and long life. On the cross Jesus cried out, “My God, My God why have you forsaken me”, so that we can cry out My Father, My Father why have you loved me.
