DAY 21
Manna from Heaven
John 6:32-35 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." 34 Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread always." 35 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.
Jesus compared himself to the Manna that fell in the wilderness. The Manna is a picture of Jesus’ broken body. To learn more about Jesus’ broken body that brings healing and health we will have to study this Manna. The word “Manna” in Hebrew means, “What is it?” It was white like coriander seed, the color of the stone bdellium and it tasted like wafers made with honey. It also had the taste of fresh oil .The Israelites would gather it and make cakes out of it. Every morning when the dew fell the manna fell upon it. Nehemiah calls manna the “Bread from heaven.” In the Psalms the manna is called “Angel’s Food”. This was supernatural bread that fell from heaven every morning except on the Sabbath Day. They were instructed to gather a certain amount of manna each morning for each person. They were instructed to eat all the manna they gathered each day. This manna came down for forty years. It stopped when they entered into the Promised Land and ate the produce of the land. As long as they were in the wilderness their feet did not swell nor did their clothes wear out. This manna was a picture of Jesus’ broken body on the cross. It was available to them every day as long as they were in the wilderness. When they entered into the Promised Land the manna stopped. The truth concerning Jesus’ redemption for us is available daily for us to eat. It will stop when we get to our eternal Promised Land in heaven. The Apostle Paul writes, “To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. I will give him a white stone, and on that stone a new name.” The hidden manna is the revelation (white stone) of Jesus’ broken body on the cross. It is the revelation of our righteousness in Christ. Our new name is our identity with Christ. The taste of this revelation of our redemption in Christ is that of honey and fresh oil. Honey is a picture of the sweetness of God’s word concerning our redemption and fresh oil is a picture of the Holy Spirits anointing on our lives. This manna fell each morning upon the dew. Dew is a picture of grace. The redemptive work at the cross is the result of God’s great love and his abundance of grace given to mankind. As long as they ate the Manna their feet did not swell. Feet are a picture of your health. They stayed in good health as long as they ate the Manna. We are instructed to eat this manna every day. The revelation of Jesus’ broken body on the cross will keep us in good health all the days of our life.

PrayerFather I thank you for giving me a white stone with a new name written on it. I thank you for the revelation of my redemption in Christ and for placing me “In Christ”.
