DAY 07
Jesus demonstrates God's Love and Grace to the world
Have you ever wondered why Jesus had to be baptized by John the Baptist? John was baptizing people unto repentance. Jesus had no sin in him and had no need to repent. Jesus told John to baptize him so that righteousness can be fulfilled. Jesus allowed himself to be baptized by John to paint a picture for us. Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River. The Hebrew word “Jordan” means “descending”. The Jordan River descends from a mountain and ends up in the Dead Sea. It is a picture of fallen man descending into eternal death. Jesus’ baptism is a picture of the cross. At the cross Jesus became sin. He became one of us. He died. When he went under the water he was buried and went down to hell in our place. When he came up out of the water he resurrected a new man. When he came up out of the water a voice came from heaven that said, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased”. Then the Holy Spirit descended upon him. At the cross righteousness was fulfilled. Jesus paid the price for our sins and redeemed us from sin and its judgment and gave us, as a free gift, his perfect righteousness. When we accept Jesus as our Savior our sin nature dies with him, we are buried with him, and we resurrect with him a brand new man. Now that we are born again we can hear the Father say to us, “You are my beloved sons in whom I am well pleased”. Then the Holy Spirit comes and makes his home in us. After the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus he became a healing and miracle machine. He performed so many signs, wonders, and miracles that the whole world could not contain the books it would take to record them all. The Apostle John said, “For this reason the Lord Jesus came, to undo the works of the devil.” Jesus hates the devil because the devil afflicts his beloved children. When Jesus saw the devils’ work in the lives of his people he undid those works by healing the sick, casting out devils or performing miracles to restore his people to health and wholeness. Not one person that was healed by Jesus deserved it. Not one of them was righteous before God. He healed them to demonstrate God’s great love, mercy, and compassion for man. They were all under the Old Covenant and under the curse of the Law. How much more do we, as children of God, who have a biblical right to be healed, receive our healing? Those people were healed before the cross. How much more shall we be healed who have been redeemed from every sin and from the judgment for sin. Jesus has already borne our sicknesses, diseases, and pains. He has made us righteous in his sight and accepted us in his beloved family. We are the sons of God and his beloved heirs. Healing belongs to us as his righteous and holy children. All you have to do is use your faith and receive your healing. All you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus bore your sickness and proclaim with your mouth, by Jesus stripes I am healed.
PrayerFather I thank you for demonstrating your great love for me. I thank you for showing me your willingness to heal me and free me from the devil’s affliction in my life. I thank you for accepting me in your beloved family and calling me your beloved son/daughter.

Confession
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am redeemed from the curse of sickness, disease and pain. I am God’s beloved son and his heir; therefore I receive my healing in Jesus name. I resist all sickness, disease and pain. I do not permit it to live in my body for by Jesus’ stripes I am healed.
